SEN453 LoRa Door/Window Contact Opening Sensor - Installation and Setup Follow
SEN453 LoRa Door/Window Contact Opening Sensor is used to detect the status of a door, window opening. The device is equipped with a reed sensor, which can be used to detect the status of the door and window. Through the built-in wireless module, it can achieve wireless alarm and other functions.
The reed switch is on (conducting) within the magnetic range, and is off (nonconducting) when it's out of the magnetic range. The module can detect the closing and opening signals so that the state of the door window status can be detected.
Quick Installation guide
Power
-
2 x 3.6V ER14505 AA lithium batteries (3.6V2400mah/section)
Connectivity
- LoRa long range wireless
Mounting
- The SEN453 has a built-in magnet. It can be attached to the surface of an object with iron during installation, which is convenient and quick.
- Do not install the device in a metal shielded box or in an environment surrounded by other electrical equipment to avoid affecting the wireless transmission of the device.
- The using environment should be kept away from strong magnetic fields, so as not to affect the test accuracy. It is strictly forbidden to use in humid and corrosive gas environments.
- Weight - 141g
- Main Part - L: 112mm*W: 65mm*H: 32mm
- Reed Case Size - L:43mm*W:13mm*H:12mm
- External Cable Length - 1 meter
- The installation distance between the reed switch probe and the magnet should be less than 2cm.
- Before installing please make sure to check that all parts of the device are clear of any contact between the reed switch and the magnet or any other object when movement is taking place.
- If installing on double opening doors please make sure the main unit, cable and reed switch are secure to one of the doors and the magnet on the other door. When both doors are open there will be no contact to the unit that could cause damage.
- When installing the device, the magnet must move along the X axis relative to the sensor.
- If the magnet moves along the Y axis relative to the sensor, it will cause repeated reports due to the magnetic field.
Install
- The SEN453 has a built-in magnet on the main unit. To make the installation more secure, please use screws, double sided adhesive tape or cable ties to fix the main device to the wall or other objects.
- The reed switch and the magnet both come with double sided sticky tape preinstalled.
- Secure the cable between the main unit and the reed switch please use cable ties or cable fixing to secure the cable.
Quick Pre Commissioning Guide
Joining devices to the LoRa network
SEN453 devices in wireless range and with the correct AppEUI and AppKey settings will automatically join the LoRa network when they are first powered up.
The unique DevEUI is printed on all SEN453 devices and is also present in the QR code. The DevEUI can be used to identify the device once joined to the network.
Powering the Device
To power the device ON, Insert batteries. (users may need a screwdriver to open). Then press and hold the function key (on front of device) for 3 seconds till the green indicator flashes once.
- The device will search for the network to join. The green indicator light stays on for 5 seconds: joins the network successfully.
- If the green indicator light remains off: fail to join the network
If the device does not successfully connected to the LoRa network and will keep trying. This will consume the batteries power until it makes a connection or depletes the batteries.
Powering the device Off
To power off the device remove the batteries from the unit.
- The device will be off after removing the battery then reinsert the battery to power on.
- It is suggested to wait for at least 10 seconds between turning the device on and off.
- At 1st -5th second after power on, the device will be in engineering test mode.
Failure to join - If the device fails to Join the Network, Power the device off to save power. Check the device verification information on the gateway and the device match.
