SEN420 LoRa Environmental Sensor - Installation and Setup Follow
SEN420 LoRa Environmental Sensor accurately measure multiple indoor environmental parameters including room temperature, humidity, light level, VOC’s, CO2, pressure and presence (motion PIR).
Quick Installation guide
Power
- 2 x SAFT LS14500 AA size 3.6 Volt Lithium Thionyl Chloride (Li-SOCl2) batteries (non-rechargeable) or direct equivalent.
Connectivity
- LoRa long range wireless
Mounting
- at locations where occupants would typically be seated or standing
- at a height of about 1.1-1.7 m [3.6-5.6 ft] above the finished floor and on the inner walls
- at least 0.5 - 1 m [3.3 ft] away from walls, doors, windows, air supply/exhaust outlets
- at least 1 m [3.3 ft] from the corner of a room
- in places where the temperature is in the range of 10-30 ° C
- at a point where air exhausts from the room (where possible)
-
Zone units with a (LUX) light level sensor, position the sensor so it receives light levels representative of the space and so that the sensor is not in any shadows
-
Sensor Orientation - Fix the Zone unit to the wall or partition and ensure that the ventilation grills are at the top and bottom of the enclosure to allow air to pass over the internal sensors.
Install
-
EnLink Zone units are lightweight (approx. 250g) and can be fixed to indoor walls or partitions using a variety of methods including double sided adhesive tape, Velcro, Nano tape, screws and ties.
Quick Pre Commissioning Guide
Joining devices to the LoRa network
EnLink devices in wireless range and with the correct AppEUI and AppKey settings will automatically join the LoRa network when they are first powered up.
The unique DevEUI is printed on all enLink devices and is also present in the QR code. The DevEUI can be used to identify the device once joined to the network.
Powering the Device
To power the device ON, remove the rear cover of the enLink Zone by inserting a small screwdriver blade into the slots on the bottom of the unit as shown below.
Locate the power switch and using small screwdriver gently slide the power switch towards the ON position marked on the unit as shown.
Once powered ON, the enLink device will send a Join request message. The Status LED will blink RED as shown below whilst the Join process is taking place. Depending on factors such as signal strength, RF interference etc. the join process may take several seconds to complete.
When the device has successfully joined the network the Status LED will blink GREEN five times to show that the join has been completed. The LED’s will then switch off to conserve the batteries.
If the device does not blink green then the device has not successfully connected to the LoRa network and will keep trying. This will consume the batteries power until it makes a connection or depletes the batteries.
Powering the device Off
If the device is using batteries move the switch to the EXT position. If the device using external power move the switch to the BATT position (assuming no batteries are present in the device).
Failure to join - If the device fails to Join the Network, Power the device off to save power. Check the device verification information on the gateway and the device match.
