Introduction to Demo Sensors Follow
This article aims to explain the functionality of the included sensors in each EnOcean demo kit, giving an overview of the sensors and more detailed information about each of the sensors.
The full range of EnOcean sensors can be purchased from our website.
Sensor Overview
Each EnOcean demo kit contains the following sensors:
- EnOcean D2-14-41 Multi-Sensor - Collect a range of room telemetry metrics (shown in the image on the left below)
- EnOcean F6-02-XX 2 Rocker Switch - User-controlled wireless push-button switch (shown in the on the right image below)
Each of the sensors provides input data to the set of demo dashboards. Both the multi-sensor and rocker-switch are explained further in the following sections.
Multi-Sensor
The multi-sensor can be used to simultaneously monitor temperature, humidity, illumination, and 3-axis acceleration. Furthermore, it includes a magnetic input contact which provides data based on if the contact is made or not.
The table below includes the capabilities of the multi-sensor and gives typical scenarios in which these abilities could be used.
Capability | Range (if applicable) | Example Usage Scenario |
Temperature Sensor | -40 ... 60 °C |
|
Humidity Sensor | 0 ... 100 % |
|
Illumination Sensor | 0 ... 100,000 lx |
|
Magnetic Contact | True / False (Contact made or not made) |
|
3-Axis Acceleration | -2.5 ... 2.5 g (all axis) |
|
Additional multi-sensors can be purchased here.
2-Rocker Switch
The 2-Rocker Switch allows two channels of wireless switch input into a given system. These channels are labeled A and B. Each channel is controlled using the respective A and B rocker. As with any regular rocker switch, each rocker has an on and off position labeled I and O respectively. A diagram showing this is shown below.
When any given button on the switch is pressed down, the switch will internally treat the button state as 'true'. When the same button is released, the switch will return the state of the button to 'false'. In each instance of either a button press or release, the switch will send a data telegram containing the current state of all buttons.
Additional switches can be purchased here.
